Where it goes
Danco lists its diverter stem for Sayco bath faucet models 308 and T-308, from 1968.
Jones Stephens files its version under New Style Sayco, models 308 and T-308, center diverter. Ferguson's page for that stem dates the models from 1968 to current.
Danco lists a separate diverter for Sayco 308 Bath Series faucets made before 1955.
No Sayco parts list was found. Every fit statement here comes from aftermarket catalogs and retailer pages.
Confirm it is your part
Note where it came from. This stem sits behind the middle handle of a three-handle valve. The left handle is the hot stem and the right handle is the cold stem.
Count the splines on the handle end. There are 16. BrassCraft's broach chart files Sayco stems under code B, 16-point.
Look at the lower half. The FourHome listing describes an O-ring sealed barrel, then a seat washer held by a brass screw at the tip.
BrassCraft's parts list for its Sayco diverter stem shows a bibb washer, a bibb screw and an O-ring. It shows the same O-ring number for the hot and cold stems, so that catalog does not confirm the barrel.
Check the gauge class. Danco and BrassCraft both place this diverter at length 9 on their stem gauges. That is a gauge slot, not a length in inches.
Do not sort by spline count or gauge class alone. Danco lists the hot stem, the cold stem and the diverter all at ID length 9, broach B.
Look-alikes
Sayco P002 hot stem
Why it gets confusedSame valve, and Danco files it under the same broach code and gauge class.
How to tellComes from the left handle. BrassCraft marks it RH, and the FourHome listing calls the thread right hand. The FourHome listings describe a flat seat washer at the bottom and no sealing barrel.
Sayco P004 cold stem
Why it gets confusedPulled from the same valve body, and the handle end looks the same.
How to tellComes from the right handle. BrassCraft and Park Supply mark it LH. The FourHome listing gives it a left-hand thread and a flat washer on a screw at the bottom, with no O-ring barrel.
Sayco K-1DA49 diverter (Everbilt 86011)
Why it gets confusedAlso a 16-point Sayco diverter stem.
How to tellEverbilt lists 86011 against Sayco K-1DA49, a different number, and at a shorter length than any catalog gives the 308 and T-308 diverter. Lay the old stem beside the listed length before ordering.
Pre-1955 Sayco 308 diverter (Danco 10B-7D)
Why it gets confusedSame brand, same 308 name, same broach code.
How to tellDanco files it at ID length 10 and 5.00 in., for 308 Bath Series faucets made before 1955. The 1968-on diverter gauges at ID length 9.
Pfister 910-382 diverter stem
Why it gets confusedAnother brass center diverter from a three-handle tub and shower valve.
How to tellCount the splines. Catalogs list the Pfister stem at 12-point and the Sayco at 16. The Pfister part is longer and carries a bonnet with external threads.

Thread direction. No catalog states it for the diverter.
BrassCraft ST2684, HD Supply 487250 and Jones Stephens C07417. Each is sold as a Sayco diverter stem, and Jones Stephens names the 308 and T-308. None of their pages prints 06550, so they are not listed as cross-references.
Barrel diameter, thread size and O-ring count. No source gives them.
Field notes
All three stems in a 308 valve share the broach and the gauge class. Keep each stem with its handle position as it comes out, or the diverter gets mistaken for a hot or cold stem.
