Delta RP19804 is the single-function pressure balance cartridge for Monitor 1300 and 1400 Series tub and shower valves. Delta's parts title reads 04/2006 and earlier. Newer valves take Delta RP46074, a different cartridge, so the valve age matters before you order.

Where it goes
Delta's parts page lists RP19804 for Monitor 1300/1400 Series tubs and showers. The page title says 04/2006 and earlier. The page text says produced before March 2006.
Delta staff say RP19804 fits 1400 Series valves installed before 2006, and that RP46074 fits MultiChoice Universal R10000 valve bodies installed after 2006. They state the two are not interchangeable.
Delta staff say a valve that takes RP19804 works with T13 or T14 trims, but a 17 Series trim needs a different rough-in valve. They also say RP19804 will not work in Delta 600 Series units that push up to turn on.

Delta ties RP19804 to the age of the valve body, not the trim: valves produced before March 2006 (parts title: 04/2006 and earlier). It ties RP46074 to valves after that break.
The cap color tells the series. Delta's sheet 48027 says a white cap means a 1300/1400 Series cartridge (RP19804) and a grey cap means a 13/14 MultiChoice cartridge (RP46074).
Delta lists it as single-function and says it allows for temperature control. Delta's 17 Series cartridges are dual-function, with separate volume and temperature control.
The valve is a Monitor 1300 or 1400 Series tub and shower valve. Delta staff say T13 or T14 series trims are the ones that work with an RP19804 valve without changing the rough-in valve.
Delta's sheet 34459 draws the cartridge as a cap on a lower housing, with a brass stem, a brass stop, a Rotational Limit Stop labeled RLS and a raised stop on the cap.
Delta staff describe two small O-rings on the legs at the bottom of the cartridge and a larger O-ring on the body, listed by Delta as RP14414 and RP23357.
Look-alikes
Delta RP46074, MultiChoice Universal 13 / 14 Series
Why it gets confusedSame Monitor 13/14 name family, same single-function job, same limit stop. New T13 or T14 trim kits may carry this one.
How to tellValve age and cap color. Delta lists RP46074 for valve bodies after March 2006 (page text) or after 2006 (staff), with a grey cap. RP19804 is for earlier valves, with a white cap. Delta says they are not interchangeable.
Delta RP32104, Monitor 17 Series (04/2006 and earlier)
Why it gets confusedSame era in the title and the same Monitor name.
How to tellRP32104 is dual-function, for Monitor 1700/1800 Series valves produced before March 2007, with separate volume and temperature control. RP19804 is single-function and goes with 1300/1400.
Delta RP46463, MultiChoice Universal 17 Series
Why it gets confusedDelta's page text for RP46463 mentions 1300/1400 Series in one line, though the title says 17 Series.
How to tellRP46463 is dual-function, with separate volume and temperature control. Delta lists older Monitor 17 Series valves under RP32104, not RP46463. RP19804 is single-function.
Delta RP74236, Ceramic 13/14 Series Shower
Why it gets confusedDelta files another cartridge under the 13/14 Series Shower name.
How to tellDelta's page calls RP74236 a ceramic valve. Delta's RP19804 page gives no valve type. Which valves take RP74236 was not found in a Delta document, so no fit statement is made.

Field notes
Delta staff say the cartridge follows the valve body, not the trim. A T13 or T14 trim kit can carry the newer cartridge, so a new-looking trim can sit on an old valve.
Delta uses two naming styles. 1300 / 1400 Series is the earlier valve (RP19804). 13 / 14 Series under MultiChoice Universal is the later one (RP46074). Delta staff say the 13 and 14 take the same cartridges.
