Where it goes
Kohler's 2011 service parts catalog lists 20868-CP as the diverter for Trend wall-mount bath and shower faucets K-11606, K-11612, K-11616 and K-11620.
The same Kohler table gives the later Trend faucets, K-11608, K-11614, K-11618, K-11622, K-11638 and K-11730, a different diverter, 30467.
Danco catalogs a diverter stem for Kohler tub and shower faucet series 10616 and 10620, and the FourHome listing repeats those two numbers. No Kohler document found uses them.
Confirm it is your part
Note which handle it came from. The FourHome listing puts this stem behind the center handle. Kohler lists the hot and cold stems as a separate part, 21076.
Find the faucet model. Kohler gives 20868 to Trend K-11606, K-11612, K-11616 and K-11620. A Trend K-11608, K-11614, K-11618, K-11622, K-11638 or K-11730 takes 30467 instead.
Count the splines on the handle end for Danco's stem finder. Danco files its diverter for Kohler series 10616 and 10620 under broach Z, its hot stem for K10606, K10612, K10616, K10621 under broach C.
Compare Danco's codes with the side stems. Danco puts its diverter for Kohler series 10616 and 10620 at ID length 11 and its Kohler hot stem at ID length 9. ID length is a Danco catalog code, not inches.
Check the material. Ferguson lists Kohler's genuine 30467 diverter as white plastic. The 20868 replacement HD Supply sells is brass, but Noel's also sells a brass replacement for 30467, so brass alone does not settle it.
